It is great to see a young man like Rishi Sharma who has a great passion for World War II history. Right after High School Rishi took it upon himself to delay college and travel the country interviewing WWII veterans around the country. However, Rishi is upset not with himself but with the common people of American who are completely uninformed of the events of WWII.

“If a Civil War veteran suddenly came back to life from the grave, all the world’s media would be hounding him begging for an interview using the nicest equipment and the fanciest cameras. What boggles my mind is that we have this opportunity with the WWII veterans! We should not wait until there is only one left to acknowledge their sacrifices and to document them.”

Rishi’s personal project Heroes of the Second World War has interviewed hundreds of veterans around the country learning their tales of combat and experiences. However, when Rishi took his camera to the streets to talk with your Average Joe about WWII the results were less than stellar.
